Competition Law

This field of law establishes rules that maintain open and fair markets, ensuring that businesses compete in ways that protect consumers and foster innovation.
In today’s economy, challenges such as the growing power of digital platforms, large corporate mergers, and rising inequality make this field more critical than ever.

At our center, Prof. Michal S. Gal is a leading scholar in the field.
In 2022, Global Competition Review selected her to be one of the 25 most influential competition academics in the world.

More recently, in her chapter “The Social Contract at the Basis of Competition Law: Should We Recalibrate Competition Law to Limit Inequality?”, she argues that competition law should also address concerns of inequality alongside concerns of efficiency.
Together, her research highlights how competition law can shape markets not only to be competitive but also fairer and more inclusive.
